Chongo Magazine is a multimedia magazine on Masculinity and Male Photography edited by Pablo Bartolomé since November 2011. It became a reality in an effort to exalt the male figure and give different points of view about it.
Chongo, a slang word from Argentina that means "macho" (a very masculine guy), introduces anonymous guys from different cities and countries, highlighting their particularities while at the same time denoting a common factor: a powerful physique.
To date, we have released 6 issues, all available in paper in limited editions of 1,000 copies and digital for tablet, smartphone and computer. Chongo has had the pleasure to partner and collaborate with talented photographers and artists around the world, all key contributors to the consistent archetype of "chongo," enriched by their own backgrounds, experiences and references, including art, cinema, music, cultural studies...
